Carefree and light – that is how Children's Day is supposed to feel every year! Operations, respirators and long conversations with doctors often times stand in the way of this feeling like a giant obstacle...

On June 1st 2022 we tried to fly over this obstacle with balloons of all colors. With Misses Gierth of 'Pollys Ballon- und Bastelshop' in Dresden we have found a remarkable partner for this project. She delivered 200 colorful Balloons directly into the Children's Clinic of the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden. The Heads of the Departments Prof. Berner (Pediatrics) and Prof. Fitze (Pediatric Surgery) helped us giving the balloons out to the children in all of 14 wards which put a shine into their eyes. For a short moment we met the daily sorrow with colorful ease.

We seized the opportunity of the day and also visited the other children's clinic in Städtisches klinikum Dresden to give the sick kids there some balloons!

We are looking forward to making this a tradition every year...
