Tablets for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Tablets for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Kids and adolescents that are treated at an intensive care unit do not only fight against their illness but also against fears, boredom and loneliness. Often times they are missing social interaction with friends and family – even more so during a pandemic. Since August 2022 we have been able to make life a little bit easier for these children and families since they are now able to listen to music or radio plays and watch movies or series. Particularly families that can not afford these technical devices need to be supported. Thanks to many donations we were able to equip the intensive care unit with 10 tablets for movies and video calls as well as 8 bluetooth speakers for music and radio plays.

The devices allow children to take a break from their hard days and dive into a world of adventure. And the parents can get a much deserved minute or two of rest to recharge in between the care for their child. And the rest of the family that can not be physically present in the ward can also partake and support via video calls.

In addition to the donation of tablets and bluetooth speakers this project relies on regular donations to pay the costs for streaming platforms. Thank you for supporting this project!
